Personal data (hereinafter mostly referred to as “data”) is processed by us only to the extent necessary and for the purpose of providing a functional and user-friendly website, including its content and the services offered there.
In accordance with Art. 4 no. 1 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, i.e. the General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter “GDPR”), “processing” means any operation or set of operations which is performed on personal data, whether or not by automated means, such as collection, recording, organisation, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure or destruction.
With the following privacy policy, we inform you in particular about the type, scope, purpose, duration and legal basis of the processing of personal data, insofar as we either alone or jointly with others decide on the purposes and means of processing. In addition, we inform you below about the third-party components used by us for optimisation purposes and to increase the quality of use, insofar as third parties process data under their own responsibility.
Our privacy policy is structured as follows:
I. Information about us as controllers
II. Rights of users and data subjects
III. Information on data processing

II. Rights of users and data subjects
With regard to the data processing described in more detail below, users and data subjects have the right
to obtain confirmation as to whether data concerning them is being processed, to access the processed data, to obtain further information on the data processing and copies of the data (cf. also Art. 15 GDPR);
to rectification or completion of inaccurate or incomplete data (cf. also Art. 16 GDPR);
to the immediate erasure of data concerning them (cf. also Art. 17 GDPR), or, alternatively, where further processing is necessary pursuant to Art. 17 para. 3 GDPR, to restriction of processing in accordance with Art. 18 GDPR;

Furthermore, the provider is obliged to inform all recipients to whom data has been disclosed by the provider of any rectification or erasure of data or restriction of processing carried out pursuant to Articles 16, 17 para. 1, 18 GDPR. This obligation does not, however, apply if such notification is impossible or involves a disproportionate effort. Notwithstanding this, the user has the right to obtain information about these recipients.
Users and data subjects also have the right to object, pursuant to Art. 21 GDPR, to the future processing of data concerning them, where the data is processed by the provider in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. In particular, an objection to processing for direct marketing purposes is permissible.
III. Information on data processing
The data processed when using our website will be erased or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage no longer applies, provided that no statutory retention obligations prevent the erasure and no differing information is provided below for individual processing operations.
Server data
For technical reasons, in particular to ensure a secure and stable website, data is transmitted by your internet browser to us or to our web space provider. These so-called server log files include, among other things, the type and version of your internet browser, the operating system, the website from which you accessed our website (referrer URL), the web page(s) of our website that you visit, the date and time of each access as well as the IP address of the internet connection from which our website is accessed.
The data collected in this way is stored temporarily, but not together with other data relating to you.
This storage is based on the legal basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the improvement, stability, functionality and security of our website.
The data will be erased at the latest after seven days, unless further retention is required for evidentiary purposes. Otherwise, the data will be wholly or partially exempt from erasure until the final clarification of an incident.
Cookies
a) Session cookies
We use so-called cookies on our website. Cookies are small text files or other storage technologies that are placed and stored on your end device by the internet browser you use. These cookies are used to process certain information from you on an individual basis, such as your browser or location data or your IP address.
Through this processing, our website becomes more user-friendly, effective and secure, as the processing enables, for example, the display of our website in different languages or the provision of a shopping cart function.
The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR, insofar as these cookies process data for the initiation or performance of a contract.
If the processing does not serve the purpose of contract initiation or performance, our legitimate interest lies in improving the functionality of our website. In this case, the legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR.
These session cookies are deleted when you close your internet browser.
b) Third-party cookies
Where applicable, cookies from partner companies with whom we cooperate for the purposes of advertising, analysis or the functionalities of our website may also be used within our website.
For details on this, in particular on the purposes and legal bases for the processing of such third-party cookies, please refer to the information below.
c) Possibility of removal
You can prevent or restrict the installation of cookies by adjusting the settings of your internet browser. You can also delete cookies that have already been stored at any time. The steps and measures required for this depend, however, on the specific internet browser you use. If you have any questions, please use the help function or documentation of your internet browser or contact its manufacturer or support. In the case of so-called flash cookies, processing cannot be prevented via the browser settings. Instead, you must change the settings of your Flash player. The steps and measures required for this also depend on the specific Flash player you use. If you have any questions, please use the help function or documentation of your Flash player or contact the manufacturer or user support.
If you prevent or restrict the installation of cookies, this may, however, result in not all functions of our website being fully usable.
Contract processing
The data you provide for the use of our goods and/or service offerings is processed by us for the purpose of contract processing and is necessary in this respect. Conclusion and performance of the contract are not possible without the provision of your data.
The legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR.
We erase the data upon complete performance of the contract, but must observe the tax and commercial retention periods.
As part of contract processing, we pass on your data to the transport company commissioned with the delivery of the goods or to the financial service provider, insofar as the transfer is necessary for the delivery of goods or for payment purposes.
The legal basis for the transfer of the data is then Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR.
Customer account / registration function
If you create a customer account with us via our website, we will use the data you enter during registration (e.g. your name, address or e-mail address) exclusively for pre-contractual services, performance of the contract or for customer care purposes (e.g. to provide you with an overview of your previous orders with us or to be able to offer you a so-called wishlist function) and store it. At the same time, we store the IP address and the date and time of your registration. This data will, of course, not be passed on to third parties.
During the further registration process, your consent to this processing is obtained and reference is made to this privacy policy. The data collected by us in this process will be used exclusively for the provision of the customer account.
If you consent to this processing, the legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR.
Insofar as the opening of the customer account also serves pre-contractual measures or the performance of the contract, the legal basis for this processing is also Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR.
You may revoke the consent given to us for the opening and maintenance of the customer account at any time with effect for the future in accordance with Art. 7 para. 3 GDPR. To do so, you only need to inform us of your revocation.
The data collected in this connection will be erased as soon as processing is no longer necessary. In doing so, we must observe tax and commercial retention periods.
Credit check and scoring
If we offer you the option of payment by invoice as part of our goods or service offering and you make use of this option, we reserve the right to obtain a credit report from a credit agency (such as Creditreform, Schufa, Bürgel or infoscore) on the basis of mathematical-statistical procedures. For this purpose, we forward your data, insofar as it is relevant to the contract, such as your name and address, to the credit agency. The subsequent information on the statistical probability of non-payment is used by us to decide whether we offer you payment by invoice.
The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in the security of our claims pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR.
Newsletter
If you register for our free newsletter, the data requested from you for this purpose, i.e. your e-mail address and – optionally – your name and address, will be transmitted to us. At the same time, we store the IP address of the internet connection from which you access our website as well as the date and time of your registration. As part of the further registration process, we will obtain your consent to sending the newsletter, describe the content in detail and refer you to this privacy policy. The data collected will be used exclusively for sending the newsletter – in particular, it will not be passed on to third parties.
The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR.
You may revoke your consent to receive the newsletter at any time with effect for the future in accordance with Art. 7 para. 3 GDPR. To do so, you only need to inform us of your revocation or click on the unsubscribe link contained in each newsletter.
Contact requests / contact option
If you contact us via contact form or e-mail, the data you provide will be used to process your request. Provision of the data is necessary for processing and answering your enquiry – without its provision we may not be able to answer your enquiry or only in a limited manner.
The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR.
Your data will be erased if your enquiry has been conclusively answered and there are no statutory retention obligations to the contrary, such as, for example, in the case of subsequent contract processing.
User contributions, comments and ratings
We offer you the opportunity to publish questions, answers, opinions or ratings, hereinafter collectively referred to as “contributions”, on our web pages. If you make use of this offer, we will process and publish your contribution, the date and time of submission and the pseudonym you may have used.
The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR. You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future in accordance with Art. 7 para. 3 GDPR. To do so, you only need to inform us of your revocation.
In addition, we also process your IP address and e-mail address. The IP address is processed because we have a legitimate interest in taking or supporting further steps if your contribution infringes third-party rights and/or is otherwise unlawful.
The legal basis in this case is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the possible legal defence.
Subscription to contributions
If you publish contributions on our website, we additionally offer you the option to subscribe to third-party follow-up contributions. In order to be able to inform you about these follow-up contributions by e-mail, we will process your e-mail address.
The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR. You can revoke your consent to this subscription at any time with effect for the future in accordance with Art. 7 para. 3 GDPR. To do so, you only need to inform us of your revocation or click on the unsubscribe link contained in the respective e-mail.
Competitions
We offer you the possibility to participate in competitions via our website. If you participate in one of our competitions, the data you provide when participating will be processed, without any further consent from you, but of course exclusively for the purpose of implementing and handling the respective competition.
In the course of handling the competition, we pass on your data to the transport company commissioned with the delivery of the goods or to a financial service provider, insofar as the transfer is necessary for the delivery or payout of your prize. If your data is published in the event of a win, you will be informed of this in the declaration of consent.
The legal basis for the transfer of data is then Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR.
You may revoke your consent to the processing of data for participation in our competitions at any time with effect for the future in accordance with Art. 7 para. 3 GDPR. To do so, you only need to inform us of your revocation.

Linking social media via graphic or text link
We also advertise presences on the social networks listed below on our website. The integration takes place via a linked graphic of the respective network. The use of this linked graphic prevents an automatic connection to the respective network’s server from being established when a website with social media advertising is called up, in order to display a graphic of the respective network itself. Only by clicking on the corresponding graphic will the user be redirected to the service of the respective social network.
After the user has been forwarded, information about the user is collected by the respective network. It cannot be ruled out that the data collected in this way is processed in the USA.
This is initially data such as IP address, date, time and the page visited. If the user is logged into their user account of the respective network at this time, the network operator may be able to assign the information collected from the specific visit to the user’s personal account. If the user interacts via a “share” button of the respective network, this information may be stored in the user’s personal user account and published where applicable. If the user wishes to prevent the collected information from being directly assigned to their user account, they must log out before clicking the graphic. It is also possible to configure the respective user account accordingly.

Further information on the possible plug-ins and their functions can be found on Facebook at

If a plug-in is stored on one of the pages of our website you visit, your internet browser downloads a representation of the plug-in from Facebook’s servers in the USA. For technical reasons, it is necessary that Facebook processes your IP address. In addition, the date and time of your visit to our website are also recorded.
If you are logged into Facebook while visiting one of our plug-in-equipped web pages, Facebook can recognise the information collected by the plug-in from your specific visit. Facebook may assign the information collected in this way to your personal user account there. If you use Facebook’s “Like” button, for example, this information may be stored in your Facebook user account and possibly published via the Facebook platform. If you want to prevent this, you must either log out of Facebook before visiting our website or use an add-on for your internet browser to prevent the Facebook plug-in from loading.

Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics on our website. This is a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, hereinafter “Google”.
By being certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield
https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt000000001L5AAI&status=Active
Google guarantees that the EU’s data protection requirements will also be complied with when processing data in the USA.
The Google Analytics service is used to analyse the usage behaviour of our website. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the analysis, optimisation and economic operation of our website.
Usage and user-related information, such as IP address, location, time or frequency of visits to our website, will be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, we use Google Analytics with the so-called anonymisation function. This function truncates Google’s IP address already within the EU or the EEA.
The data collected in this way is in turn used by Google to provide us with an evaluation of visits to our website as well as the usage activities there. This data may also be used to provide other services related to the use of our website and the use of the internet.
Google states that it will not associate your IP address with other data. In addition, Google provides further data protection information at
https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/partners
for you, such as information on how to prevent the use of data.
In addition, Google offers a so-called deactivation add-on with further information at
https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de
This add-on can be installed with common internet browsers and provides you with further control over the data that Google collects when you visit our website. The add-on tells the JavaScript (ga.js) of Google Analytics that information about your visit to our website should not be transmitted to Google Analytics. This does not prevent information from being transmitted to us or to other web analytics services we may use. Whether and which further web analytics services we use can also be found in this privacy policy.
Web analysis Hotjar
We use Hotjar on our website. This is a web analytics service provided by Hotjar Ltd., Level 2, St Julians Business Centre, 3, Elia Zammit Street, St Julians STJ 1000, Malta, Europe, hereinafter “Hotjar”.

In addition, Hotjar evaluates information about your operating system, your internet browser, incoming or outgoing references (“links”), your geographical origin as well as the type and triggering of the device you use for statistical purposes. Hotjar can also collect direct feedback from you. In addition, Hotjar provides further data protection information at
https://www.hotjar.com/privacy
You also have the option to stop the analysis of your usage behaviour by way of opt-out. By confirming the link

a cookie will be stored via your internet browser on your end device, which will prevent further analysis. Please note, however, that you will need to click on the above link again if you delete the cookies stored on your end device.
Web analysis Criteo
We use Criteo for analysis and individual display of advertising on our website. Criteo is a service of Criteo SA, 32 Rue Blanche, 75009 Paris, hereinafter “Criteo”.
The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the analysis, optimisation and economic operation of our website.
Information about your visit to our website and your activities on the websites of our advertising partners is collected using tracking cookies and similar storage technologies. This information includes, for example, the number of subpages, advertisements and products you view, the search function you use, information about your end device (device type, operating system, version) or your location, in order to advertise only products or services that are available regionally. Criteo uses a technical ID to record the products you have viewed and your search behaviour. According to Criteo, this does not allow identification of your person – only anonymous information about your possible interests is determined.
After evaluating the information collected, Criteo places individual advertisements on our website or on the websites of our advertising partners (so-called publishers).
The advertising partners can recognise, on the basis of cookies stored on your end device by your internet browser, whether an advertisement from the Criteo advertising network should be displayed when you access a website.
Criteo processes your full IP address exclusively for the following purposes:
– detection of fraudulent acts, for example to detect visits that cannot be attributed to human behaviour,
– attribution of sales;
– marketing reports with aggregated data.
